CVE-2024-12285

CVSS v3.1

6.1

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions SEMA API plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 5.27
Description The issue is related to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that execute if they can successfully trick a user into performing an action such as clicking on a link. The catid parameter is specifically vulnerable to this type of attack.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 5.27, consider disabling the catid parameter in the SEMA API plugin until a patch is available. Restrict access to the SEMA API plugin to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the catid parameter in affected pages until the issue is resolved.
