CVSS v3.1
3.5
Low
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:R/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
The WordPress Tag, Category, and Taxonomy Manager versions prior to 3.30.0
Description
The issue concerns the WordPress Tag, Category, and Taxonomy Manager plugin, which does not properly sanitise and escape some of its Widgets settings. This could allow high-privilege users, such as administrators, to perform Stored Cross-Site Scripting attacks, even when the unfiltered html capability is disallowed, for example, in a multisite setup.
Recommendations
For versions prior to 3.30.0, update to version 3.30.0 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the plugin's Widgets settings to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the unfiltered html capability in multisite setups until the issue is resolved.
