Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Push Notification for Post and BuddyPress plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2.06
Description
The issue is related to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages by tricking a user into performing an action, such as clicking on a link, using the
pushnotificationid parameter.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 2.06, update to a version that addresses the insufficient input sanitization and output escaping issue to prevent Reflected Cross-Site Scripting attacks.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the
pushnotificationid parameter to minimize the risk of exploitation.Fix
