Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A memory leak issue has been resolved in the Linux kernel, specifically in the
test gen synth cmd() and test empty synth event() functions. The issue occurred because these functions only freed the buffer in the failure path, resulting in a memory leak when there was no failure. To prevent this, kfree(buf) was added to the functions. The issue was identified through backtraces and hex dumps of unreferenced objects.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
