CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A potential memory leak in the Linux kernel has been resolved. The issue occurred in the drm dev init() function, where a reference count added by device get() was not properly released due to a failure in drmm add action(). This led to a memory leak. The problem can be prevented by using drmm add action or reset() instead of drmm add action(). A memory dump and backtrace are provided, showing the affected object and the call stack.
Recommendations To resolve the issue, use drmm add action or reset() instead of drmm add action() in the drm dev init() function to prevent the memory leak. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
