CVE-2022-49835

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A potential memory leak issue has been resolved in the Linux kernel, specifically in the ALSA hda component. The problem occurred in the add widget node function, where kobject add may allocate memory for kobject->name when it returns an error. If the call to kobject add failed, the kobject was not freed, leading to a memory leak. To fix this, kobject put is called to recycle resources.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
