CVE-2022-49891

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A memory leak issue has been resolved in the Linux kernel. The problem occurred in the test gen kprobe/kretprobe cmd() function, where the buffer was only freed in the failure path, leading to a memory leak when there was no failure. The solution involved moving the kfree(buf) call from the failure path to the common path to prevent the memory leak. The same issue and solution applied to the test gen kretprobe cmd() function.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
