Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel has been resolved, related to the validation of region HPA ordering. Some regions may not have any address space allocated, and skipping them during validation can prevent a crash. The issue can lead to a kernel NULL pointer dereference. Technical details include the
store targetN function and the alloc region ref function at drivers/cxl/core/region.c:676. The vulnerability can cause a crash with a BUG message indicating a kernel NULL pointer dereference.Recommendations
