Description A vulnerability in the Linux kernel has been resolved, related to the incorrect invocation of the perf output begin parameter in perf event bpf output. This issue causes memory overwriting in perf event header init id due to the incorrect conversion of small-sized data (struct perf bpf event) into large-sized data (struct perf sample data). The vulnerability was reported by syzkaller, which identified a KASAN issue with stack-out-of-bounds.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
