Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A shift-out-of-bounds issue has been resolved in the Linux kernel, specifically in the drm/amd/display component, related to the CalculateVMAndRowBytes function. This issue occurs when PTEBufferSizeInRequests is zero, causing UBSAN to report a warning due to an unexpected negative value returned by dml log2. The warning indicates that the shift exponent is too large for a 32-bit type 'int'. To address this, the code now skips the dml log2 call and assigns the result directly when PTEBufferSizeInRequests is zero.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
