Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A memory leak issue has been identified in the Linux kernel, specifically in the
scsi dh alua component. The leak occurs when alua rtpg queue() fails in alua activate(), causing the qdata object to remain unreferenced and resulting in a memory leak. This issue can lead to memory exhaustion over time. The estimated number of potentially affected devices is not provided.Recommendations
To resolve this issue, apply the fix by freeing the
qdata object in the error path of alua activate(). This can be achieved by updating the Linux kernel to a version that includes the fix for the memory leak in scsi dh alua. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
