CVE-2023-53091

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A null pointer dereference problem may occur when mounting a crafted ext4 image. The issue arises because s journal inum may change after journal replay, bypassing checks in ext4 get journal(). To address this, the code now ignores changes to s journal inum after journal replay and rewrites the current journal inum to the superblock.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
