Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A use-after-free vulnerability has been identified in the Linux kernel related to PCI resources with per-function hotplug on s390 systems. This issue arises when PCI functions are hotplugged individually, even when they belong to a multi-function device, and their MMIO resources are released and freed on hot-unplug but still retained in the struct pci bus and struct zpci bus's resource list. This can lead to a use-after-free scenario when the PCI function re-appears. The estimated number of potentially affected devices worldwide is not available. There is no information about real-world incidents where this issue was exploited.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
