CVE-2023-53124

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A NULL pointer access issue has been resolved in the Linux kernel, specifically in the mpt3sas transport port add() function. The issue arises because the rphy and port allocations, performed by sas end device alloc(), sas expander alloc(), or sas port alloc num(), may return NULL. If sas rphy add() fails, rphy is set to NULL, leading to a potential NULL pointer access.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
