CVE-2024-12627

CVSS v3.1

7.5

High

VectorAV:N/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions The Coupon X: Discount Pop Up, Promo Code Pop Ups, Announcement Pop Up, WooCommerce Popups plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.3.5
Description The issue is related to PHP Object Injection via deserialization of untrusted input from post content passed to the capture email AJAX action. This allows authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access and above to inject a PHP Object. No known POP chain is present in the vulnerable software, but if a POP chain is present via an additional plugin or theme, it could allow the attacker to delete arbitrary files, retrieve sensitive data, or execute code.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 1.3.5, update to a version that fixes the PHP Object Injection issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the capture email AJAX action until a patch is available. Restrict contributor-level access and above to minimize the risk of exploitation.
