Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
RSVP and Event Management plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2.7.13
Description
The issue allows unauthorized access due to a missing capability check on several AJAX functions, such as
bulk delete attendees() and bulk delete questions(). This enables unauthenticated attackers to delete questions and attendees, and authenticated users to update question menu orders.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 2.7.13, update to a version that includes a fix for the missing capability check in the AJAX functions.
As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the
bulk delete attendees() and bulk delete questions() functions until a patch is available.
Restrict access to the AJAX endpoints related to these functions to minimize the risk of exploitation.Fix
