Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
NOTICE BOARD BY TOWKIR plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 3.1
Description
The NOTICE BOARD BY TOWKIR plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's 'notice-board' shortcode due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user supplied attributes, such as
notice-board shortcode attributes. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 3.1, consider disabling the 'notice-board' shortcode until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to the shortcode to minimize the risk of arbitrary web script injection. Avoid using the 'notice-board' shortcode with user-supplied attributes until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
