CVE-2025-3766

CVSS v3.1

5.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Login Lockdown & Protection plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2.11
Description The issue is related to unauthorized nonce access due to a missing capability check on the ajax run tool function. This allows authenticated attackers with Subscriber-level access and above to obtain a valid nonce, which can be used to generate a global unlock key. The key can then be used to add arbitrary IP addresses to the plugin's allowlist. This can only be exploited on new installations where the site administrator hasn't visited the login lockdown page yet.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 2.11, update to a version that includes a fix for the missing capability check on the ajax run tool function. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the ajax run tool function until a patch is available.
