Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The issue concerns a NULL pointer access in the Linux kernel's USB Type-C class driver. Concurrent calls to the
typec partner unlink device function can lead to a NULL pointer dereference. A patch has been added to include a mutex, protecting USB device pointers and preventing this issue. The mutex also safeguards both the device pointers and the partner device registration.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
