Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel has been resolved, specifically in the btrfs module, where the block group::bg list was not properly hardened against list del() races. This issue could potentially lead to a broken reference count, resulting in a warning. The problem occurs when there is a race condition between list del init() and btrfs mark bg unused() or other future users of bg list. This could cause an interleaving of operations that ultimately leads to a reference count underflow.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
