Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A null pointer dereference issue was found in the
pidff find fields function. This function could trigger a null pointer dereference when searching for a report that isn't implemented on the device, affecting both optional and required reports. The same issue was identified in the pidff find special field function. Although pidff init fields should return an error if a required report is missing, future modifications could potentially resurface this null pointer dereference issue.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
