Description A vulnerability in the Linux kernel has been resolved. The issue occurs when the kernel is configured with CONFIG NETFS SUPPORTS=y and CONFIG PROC FS=n, causing the system to crash. The crash is due to an error path in the netfs init() function, which attempts to create the /proc/fs/netfs directory without checking if CONFIG PROC FS is enabled. This results in a kernel BUG at mm/mempool.c:560. The vulnerability can be exploited when the system is testing a special configuration.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
