Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A NULL pointer dereference issue has been identified in the Linux kernel's USB gadget functionality, specifically in the
ast vhub init dev() function. The variable d->name, returned by devm kasprintf(), could be NULL, potentially leading to a NULL pointer dereference. A pointer check has been added to prevent this issue. This fix is similar to a previous fix for null pointer dereference issues in ice ptp.c. The issue was discovered using a static analysis tool.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
