CVSS v3.1
9.1
Critical
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:H/A:L |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Jenkins OpenID Connect Provider Plugin versions 96.vee8ed882ec4d and earlier
Description:
The issue concerns the generation of build ID Tokens, which uses potentially overridden values of environment variables. This can be exploited by attackers who can configure jobs, allowing them to craft a build ID Token that impersonates a trusted job. This could potentially lead to unauthorized access to external services.
Recommendations:
For Jenkins OpenID Connect Provider Plugin versions 96.vee8ed882ec4d and earlier, consider disabling the build ID Token generation feature until a patch is available to prevent potential impersonation attacks. Restrict access to job configuration to minimize the risk of exploitation.
