Description
The issue is related to a missing capability check on the
ajax assign new roles() function, allowing authenticated attackers with Subscriber-level access and above to elevate their privileges to that of an administrator. This makes it possible for attackers to exploit the lack of proper checks and gain higher-level access.Recommendations
For WooCommerce Customers Manager plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 31.3, consider disabling the
ajax assign new roles() function until a patch is available to prevent privilege escalation.
