CVE-2025-4126

CVSS v3.1

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: EG-Series plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2.1.1
Description: The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's [series] shortcode due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes in the shortcode title function. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary JavaScript code in the titletag attribute, which will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations: For versions up to, and including, 2.1.1, consider disabling the [series] shortcode until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to the shortcode title function to minimize the risk of arbitrary JavaScript code injection. Avoid using the titletag attribute in the affected shortcode until the issue is resolved.
