CVE-2024-8854
CVSS v3.1
5.4
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Polls CP WordPress plugin versions prior to 1.0.77
Description:
The issue allows high privilege users, such as admins, to perform Stored Cross-Site Scripting attacks. This is possible because the plugin does not properly sanitise and escape some of its poll settings. The attack can occur even when the unfiltered html capability is disallowed, for example, in a multi-site setup.
Recommendations:
For versions prior to 1.0.77, update to version 1.0.77 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the ability of high privilege users to access and modify poll settings until the update can be applied.
