| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Posts per Cat plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.4.2
Description:
The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's 'ppc' shortcode due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations:
For Posts per Cat plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.4.2, consider disabling the 'ppc' shortcode until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to pages that use the 'ppc' shortcode to minimize the risk of arbitrary web script execution.
Fix
