CVSS v3.1
6.4
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
WP-Members Membership Plugin versions up to, and including, 3.5.2
Description:
The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's
wpmem user memberships shortcode due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.Recommendations:
For versions up to, and including, 3.5.2, update to a version that addresses the insufficient input sanitization and output escaping issue in the
wpmem user memberships shortcode.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the wpmem user memberships shortcode to minimize the risk of exploitation.Fix
