CVE-2025-37924

CVSS v3.1

9.8

Critical

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A use-after-free issue in the Linux kernel's ksmbd component, related to Kerberos authentication, has been identified. The problem arises when another thread operates on a session and uses sess->user after it has been passed to ksmbd free user but before sess->user is set to NULL. This issue was addressed by introducing a fix to set sess->user to NULL, preventing a dangling pointer created by ksmbd free user.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
