CVE-2024-13572

CVSS v3.1

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Precious Metals Charts and Widgets for WordPress plugin versions 1.2.8 and earlier
Description The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's 'nfusion-widget' shortcode due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For versions 1.2.8 and earlier, update to a version that addresses the insufficient input sanitization and output escaping issue in the 'nfusion-widget' shortcode. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the 'nfusion-widget' shortcode to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the 'nfusion-widget' shortcode until the issue is resolved.
