CVE-2024-13586

CVSS v3.1

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Masy Gallery plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.7
Description The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's 'justified-gallery' shortcode due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For Masy Gallery plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.7: As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the justified-gallery shortcode until a patch is available. Restrict access to pages that use the justified-gallery shortcode to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using user-supplied attributes in the justified-gallery shortcode until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
