Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
The Glossary by WPPedia – Best Glossary plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.3.0
Description
The issue is related to PHP Object Injection via deserialization of untrusted input from the
posttypes parameter. This allows authenticated attackers with Administrator-level access and above to inject a PHP Object. The vulnerability has no impact unless another plugin or theme containing a POP chain is installed on the site. If a POP chain is present, it may allow the attacker to perform actions like delete arbitrary files, retrieve sensitive data, or execute code.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 1.3.0, update to a version that fixes the PHP Object Injection issue to prevent exploitation.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the
posttypes parameter to minimize the risk of exploitation.Fix
