| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
WooCommerce plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 9.4.2
Description
The issue is related to PostMessage-Based Cross-Site Scripting via the 'customize-store' page due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on PostMessage data. This allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that execute if they can successfully trick a user into performing an action such as clicking on a link.
Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 9.4.2, update to a version higher than 9.4.2 to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the 'customize-store' page until a patch is available.
Fix
