| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Anti-Spam: Spam Protection | Block Spam Users, Comments, Forms plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2024.7
Description
The issue is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation in the 'ss option maint.php' and 'ss user filter list' files. This allows unauthenticated attackers to delete pending comments and re-enable a previously blocked user via a forged request, granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link.
Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 2024.7, consider disabling the functionality related to the 'ss option maint.php' and 'ss user filter list' files until a patch is available. Restrict access to these files to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the plugin until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
