CVE-2025-5533

CVSS v3.1

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Knowledge Base plugin for WordPress versions prior to 2.3.0
Description The issue arises from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes in the kbalert shortcode. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages. These scripts will execute when a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For versions prior to 2.3.0, update to version 2.3.0 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the kbalert shortcode to prevent exploitation until a patch is applied.
