CVE-2025-5536

CVSS v3.1

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Freemind Viewer plugin for WordPress versions up to and including 1.0
Description The issue arises from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes in the 'freemind' shortcode. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages. These scripts will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For versions up to and including 1.0, consider disabling the freemind shortcode until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to the Freemind Viewer plugin to minimize the risk of arbitrary web script injection. Avoid using the Freemind Viewer plugin in sensitive areas of the WordPress site until the issue is resolved.
