CVSS v3.1
10
Critical
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Wavlink AC3000 version M33A8.V5030.210505
Description:
A buffer overflow issue exists in the login.cgi Goto chidx() functionality. This can be triggered by a specially crafted HTTP request, leading to a stack-based buffer overflow. An attacker can make an unauthenticated HTTP request to exploit this issue.
Recommendations:
For version M33A8.V5030.210505, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the Goto chidx() function in the login.cgi until a patch is available. Restrict access to the login.cgi module to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the vulnerable functionality in the affected device until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
