Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
IndieBlocks plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 0.13.2
Description
The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The
kind parameter is specifically vulnerable to this issue.Recommendations
For IndieBlocks plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 0.13.2, consider updating to a version that addresses the insufficient input sanitization and output escaping issue. As a temporary workaround, restrict access to the
kind parameter to minimize the risk of exploitation.Fix
