Description:
A stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the
set wifi basic mesh() function of wireless.cgi. This issue can be triggered by a specially crafted HTTP request, potentially leading to arbitrary command execution. An attacker must make an authenticated HTTP request to exploit this vulnerability. The set wifi basic mesh() function is the vulnerable component.Recommendations:
For Wavlink AC3000 M33A8.V5030.210505, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the
set wifi basic mesh() function until a patch is available. Restrict access to the wireless.cgi module to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
