Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
StreamWeasels Kick Integration plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.1.3
Description
The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The
status-classic-offline-text parameter is specifically vulnerable to this issue.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 1.1.3, update to a version that addresses the insufficient input sanitization and output escaping issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the
status-classic-offline-text parameter to minimize the risk of exploitation.Fix
