Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel has been resolved, related to the wifi mac80211 component. The issue involves setting
n channels after allocating struct cfg80211 scan request. This problem was identified using syzkaller, which reported an array-index-out-of-bounds error in net/mac80211/scan.c. The error occurs because n channels is not set after allocating the int scan req member of struct cfg80211 registered device, leading to an out-of-range index for the struct ieee80211 channel *[] type.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
