VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions prior to the fixed version
Description A vulnerability in the Linux kernel has been resolved, related to the btrfs file system. The issue is caused by the incorrect order of arguments in the btrfs prelim ref function, leading to a NULL pointer dereference. This can be triggered by enabling the btrfs prelim ref insert tracepoint and performing writeback operations. The vulnerability can cause a kernel crash, as evidenced by a backtrace showing a NULL pointer dereference.
Recommendations To resolve the issue, update to a version of the Linux kernel that includes the fix for this vulnerability. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
