CVE-2025-38082

CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A potential out-of-bound write issue has been resolved in the Linux kernel, specifically in the gpio: virtuser component. The problem occurred when the input size exceeded the buffer size in the "simple write to buffer" function. To prevent this, a check has been added to ensure the input size does not exceed the buffer size, and a zero termination is written afterwards.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
