CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A use-after-free (UAF) issue was found in the Linux kernel's wifi component, specifically in the ieee80211 scan rx() function. This function attempts to access scan req->flags after a null check, but a UAF occurs when the scan is completed and ieee80211 scan completed() is executed, leading to the freeing of scan req. The issue arises due to a race condition in ieee80211 scan completed().
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
