CVE-2022-49940

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A null pointer dereference can occur when attempting to access the gsm->receive() function in gsmld receive buf(). This happens because the gsmld receive buf() function can be accessed without initializing the MUX, resulting in gsm->receive() not being set. To fix this, a sanity check has been added to avoid calling gsm->receive() when it is not initialized.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
