CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A issue in the Linux kernel has been identified where the iforce close() function waits at wait event interruptible() with dev->mutex held, blocking input disconnect device() from input unregister device(). This is caused by a commit that forgot to call wake up() after clear bit(). The problem occurs when the IFORCE XMIT RUNNING flag is cleared.
Recommendations For the Linux kernel, introduce a helper that calls clear bit() followed by wake up all() to fix the issue. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
