CVE-2022-49999

CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A space cache corruption and potential double allocation issue has been identified in the Linux kernel. The issue arises from a race between caching free space for a block group and returning free space to the in-memory space cache for pinned extents, causing a double-add of a free range to the space cache. This race occurs when free space is cached from the free space tree or the extent tree. The issue is caused by a subtle break in the protection against this race, introduced by a commit that allowed multiple transactions to be unpinning extents at the same time.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
