CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A vulnerability in the Linux kernel has been resolved, specifically in the ext4 filesystem. The issue occurred when attempting to resize the filesystem to a size that is not integral to the cluster size, resulting in a corrupted in-memory superblock. This happened because the last iteration of the online resize attempted to grow the filesystem by a negative amount, triggering a BUG ON.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
