Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel has been identified, related to the
dsa tree change tag proto() function. This function may cause unexpected behavior when dsa tree notify() fails, potentially leading to a kernel crash. The issue arises when the felix change tag protocol() function reports an error, resulting in another call to dsa tree notify() to restore the old tag protocol. This can cause problems, such as calling dsa tag 8021q register() twice without unregistering in between, leading to corrupted data structures. The bug can be reproduced by forcing an error while in tag 8021q mode.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
